Multiple news agencies have issued an announcement concerning an effort being carried out by the Safe Kids Wisconsin coalition that could keep children safe by keeping their parents from passing along used and potentially ineffective car safety seats along to others.

According to the reports, the coalition arranged a service for businesses in six different states that let parents bring in their broken and old car safety seats. According to safety advocates, parents are being urged to avoid passing along their old car safety seats or attempting to resell them in order to avoid injuries that could come about as a result of a car safety seat failure in the event of an accident.

If your car safety seat is older than six years, you should have it recycled. Car safety seats that were involved in accidents should also be recycled.
