FJ Cruisers Recalled By Toyota Over Possible Injury Risk

Several media outlets have indicated that Toyota has issued a recall for all units of the 2007 through 2013 FJ Cruiser models, which could pose injury risks to drivers and passengers.

According to the reports, these vehicles were equipped with seat belts that are mounted on the rear doors of the vehicle. Over time, the retractors in these vehicles may present cracks due to the use, which could pose a risk to drivers and passengers since the seat belt may come detached if the retractors fail.

The company has stated that all potentially defective retractors are to be replaced for free in order to prevent incidents and injuries. No injuries or incidents linked to this recall have been reported up to this moment.

As an attorney, I’m glad that the company was able to identify this problem before anybody was injured as a result of he defect. Too often, people are injured in accidents linked to defective vehicles long before recalls are issued. I encourage all California car owners with the defective vehicle to act promptly and have this issue resolved at once.
