Parents Must Find The Proper Car Safety Seats For Their Children

Parents are willing to do anything to keep their children safe. Too often, they are willing to use car safety seats and learn how to use it properly while the child is an infant, however, as their children get older, the concern seems to dissipate. Reports show that the number one killer of children who are between 1 year of age and 12-years-old is auto crashes. Accidents claim lives of children especially because they are either not safely strapped to a car safety seat or they are not buckled up in a car child seat at all.

Air bags could save the lives of adults, but they may be extremely hazardous to children. Car safety seats should not be facing forward. The devices must also be placed in the back seat until they are heavier than 16 kg. The rules also change if the child reaches the maximum height recommendation.

When children weigh between 18 and 36 kg, they can be placed in booster seats instead, however, safety advocates and technicians urge parents to keep their children in proper car safety seats for as long as they possibly can in order to optimize the device’s effectiveness and ensure their children are properly restrained and safe in the event of an accident.

As an attorney, I urge California drivers who are also parents to never ignore the importance of using car safety seats.
