Aston Martin, reports show, has issued a recall for a series of vehicles after it was noted that a manufacturing error caused the throttle pedal arm to become vulnerable.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration vehicles affected include units of the V8 Vantage, V12 Vantage, Virage, DB9, and Rapide models that were manufactured between May 14, 2012 and April 10, 2013. The throttle pedal arm in these vehicles could crack and break while in use, causing the driver to lose control over the vehicle’s speed.

To prevent an accident, the agency has stated that Aston Martin is notifying all affected vehicle owners promptly. The affected cars will have the throttle pedal assemblies replaced for free.
