Volvo Trucks Recalled, NHTSA Reports

According to recent articles, Volvo Trucks North America is issuing a recall announcement concerning several units of certain VHD, VNL and VNM trucks of the 2013 year make.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that 2,905 units of trucks were equipped with wheel discs that may become separated unexpectedly due to the fact that these components may have not been properly welded during assembly.

Volvo is one of the many automakers recalling vehicles over the same issue regarding insufficiently welded steel wheels and rims.
The reports show that the company decided to issue this recall to prevent a wheel separation that may be caused by the insufficiently welded components.

All affected vehicles will have fully functional steel wheels replaced for free.

Hopefully, no incidents or injuries are reported in association with this recall. Too often, incidents are reported before the recall announcement is issued. Consumers who may be affected by this recall are encouraged to respond promptly. By ignoring or failing to respond quickly to a recall announcement associated with a vehicle you own or drive regularly, you could be putting your own life and lives of others at risk.
