2013 Car Buying Guide: Most Expensive And Cheapest Vehicles To Insure

Car owners are always trying to find a way to minimize their auto insurance premiums in order to lessen the financial burdens linked to owning a car. Multiple factors are linked to lower premiums including the motorist’s own driving records, however, car owners are able to save more in car insurance premiums by focusing on choosing models that insurance companies consider less costly to service in the event of an accident.

Reports indicate that purchasing a vehicle that is cheaper to insure may also help the car owner to save money in the long run. Because of that, car owners are being encouraged to keep in mind they must do their homework before setting their mind on a particular brand or model.

According to Insure.com, crossovers and SUVs are among some of the least expensive vehicles to insure while costlier models end up being more expensive to insure.

That’s mostly due to the high costs associated with part replacement of luxury vehicles. Insurance companies also look into reports of accidents associated with certain vehicles to determine whether certain models invite more damage than others in accidents. Some of the factors that also make a car more or less costly to insure include how likeable a vehicle is to be stolen and if the specific model has lower or higher bodily injury claims. Since high-performance cars are driven by motorists who tend to be more aggressive, insurance companies tend to believe these vehicles are involved in a higher number of accidents than others.

To help consumers, experts decided to make a list of the least and most expensive 2013 vehicles to insure by using data gathered by Quadrant Information Services. Data gathered concerned 750 car and truck models manufactured by six large companies.
