As reported by the EPA, the new 2013 Chevrolet Spark gets 32 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway with a five-speed manual transmission.

Several experts have stated that being able to achieve 40 mpg on the highway is becoming more and more important for most automakers out there because drivers are looking for fuel-efficient vehicles.

Consumers are advised to forget about simply assuming that a small, compact car manages to get a better mileage than a larger one, as is the case with the Spark. Both the 2012 Chevrolet Cruze Eco model and Sonic are larger than the Spark, but have better EPA ratings.
