Results Of Annual Owner Satisfaction Survey Reported

According to a recent study carried out by the Consumer Reports, the Chevrolet Volt has been chosen as one of the best vehicles among consumers during the year of 2012.

The study asked consumers if they would get the vehicle they purchased again. Subscribers in the Consumer Reports annual owner satisfaction survey responded to questions related to how happy they are with their vehicles, how economical and how reliable they believe their cars are and how likable it is for them to purchase this model again in the future. For the second year in a row, GM’s electric vehicle Volt tops the list of vehicles that would be purchased again by their owners.

The Volt model has shared the top fun to drive ratings with the Chevrolet Corvette and the Porsche 911. According to the consumer agency, fuel-efficient models that have made it to the top of the consumer ratings include the Camry Hybrid, the Prius, Prius C, Prius V and the all-electric Nissan Leaf. The Nissan Versa model obtained the lowest score among consumers. Over models that shared the low rating included the GMC Sierra, the Chevrolet Silverado, the Suzuki SX4, the Mitsubishi Outlander and the Nissan Armada. The survey was mainly conducted by agents of the Consumer Reports National Research Center and the main question posed to consumers included several factors as important points to consider such as performance, price, overall reliability, enjoyment, comfort, etc.

The survey covered 350,000 vehicles of over 240 models. Car owners who participated own vehicles of the 2010 through 2013 models. The ratings were based on the percentage of drivers who participated who answered they would definitely purchase the model they own again.

Vehicle models that earned the top ratings had at least 80 percent of respondents saying they would most definitely buy the car they own again.

This survey is conducted annually. If you’re looking into purchasing a new vehicle and you would like to learn more about the newer models by getting feedback from the car owners themselves, you may like to check the full report by clicking here.
