All-Electric Chevy Spark Could Be The Most Efficient In Its Segment

Multiple news agencies have indicated that an all-electric Spark model for 2014 has been unveiled.

The new Chevrolet EV is a version of the company’s subcompact hatchback that offers the new combo plug for DC by SAE, which makes the batteries in this vehicle able to charge much faster.

This new model comes with a 21-kWh lithium-ion battery that could be 80% charged in 20 minutes with the help of the new technology.

The new EV’s range could reach 82 miles, according to the EPA. This could be the most efficient all electric vehicle on sale, if the estimates are accurate. Combined highway and city, the new Spark could get about 119 MPGe, while other vehicles like the Honda Fit EV, Mitsubishi i-MiEV and the Nissan Leaf do not get more than 118.

While the gasoline model makes 60 mph in 11 seconds, the all-electric version comes with an engine that could hatch to 60 miles 8 seconds.
