BMW has issued a recall for all units of the 2007 through 2010 X5 SAV models over an issue that could lead to a loss of power assist braking.

Reports indicate that this model has been equipped with a brake vacuum pump that could experience a crack, resulting in a small leak of lubricating oil. If this occurs and the oil leaks into the hose, the power assist braking system could fail.

Owners will be notified of the recall. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that all affected vehicles will be fully repaired for free.
