BMW Recalls 7 Series Vehicles Over Damaged Software
Federal agents are recalling 7,485 units of 2005 through 2007 BMW 7 Series vehicles because of a software error that could cause unlatched doors to open unexpectedly.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that these vehicles need to have the software updated since the system may not warn drivers that certain doors are not entirely closed. If a door opens unexpectedly due to a software error and the vehicle is in motion, a passenger could become ejected, which could result in injuries.
To prevent incidents, BMW paired up with the NHTSA to issue this recall.
