BMW Recalls Motorcycles Over Brake Failure
According to an official announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and BMW, motorcycles are being recalled due to a serious crash hazard associated withy faulty brake fluid reservoirs.
BMW has identified an issue with the brake fluid reservoir in certain motorcycle models that could cause the brake fluid to foam, which could also cause the brake system to fail while the motorcycle is in use. The models affected include the 2007 and 2008 K1200 S, K1200 R Sport and K1200 R motorcycles.
Owners of the recalled bikes will be notified by the automaker of the issue and a screen insert will retrofit the reservoir for free to prevent the fluid from foaming.
