Can A Non-Hybrid Vehicle Get 40-MPG?

There are few cars out there that can actually claim to get up to 40 miles to the gallon, which is why certain experts decided to look into the matter and road test the models that claim to get such high mpg.

Specialists asked themselves if such feat was even possible and the answer may surprise some. There are three cars, according to the test reviews, that seemingly stand up to this claim. If you’re driving on the interstate and not taking any back roads at all then one of the vehicles that passed the test was the Volkswagen Passat TDI can achieve over 40 mpg.

According to the experts, however, the only way you can actually get this advertised 40 miles per gallon in this vehicle is if you feel like paying extra for specific engine upgrades.
