Car Seat Requirements In California Explained

Beginning this year, California Law says that all children under age 8 or who are shorter than 4’9″ must be safely restrained in a booster seat in the back of a car while riding in a vehicle.

Older or taller children must still be properly restrained, however, they must be placed in seats that are fitted for their size and weight. Any passenger over the age of 16 is subject to the Mandatory Seat Belt Law. Exceptions include cars with no back seat, cars with side facing jump seats, and various medical reasons.

Hopefully, California residents are taking this law seriously by keeping their children safe with the help pf the car safety seats.
