Chevy, Buick Vehicles Recalled By General Motors

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that General Motors issued a recall for multiple vehicles over a potential issue that could lead to a loss of battery charge.

The reports indicate that the company decided to issue this recall after it was noted that all units of the 2012 and 2013 Buick LaCrosse and Regal models that come with eAssist could experience an issue with the Generator Control Module (GCM), which could lead to a loss of battery charge. This problem may not be detected since the indicator light may function incorrectly also as a result of the issue.

If that occurs, the engine could stall or the vehicle may fail to start. To prevent a potential accident that could occur if the engine stalls due to battery problem, the company is contacting affected car owners to notify them that dealers will have all GMC replaced in case there’s an issue with the module.
