Compact Cars Are Now Safer

Multiple news agencies have claimed that small cars are getting safer than they have ever been, thanks partially to the fact that automakers have been working on developing better and more reliable safety technology.

Reports show that the small-car category is one of the fastest-growing auto categories in the auto industry. That’s due to the increase in the sales of these vehicles that has grown about 12 percent this year. Reports show that the fact the sales are going up, automakers have also been focusing on making more reliable vehicles. According to a recent research performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, death rate related to accidents involving small vehicles has dropped considerably. It went down from 165 per million in 1996 to 106 per million in 2012.
