Drivers Still Distracted, Insurance Company Says

A recent research carried out by the State Farm insurance company has indicated that the use of cell phones by drivers while the vehicle is in use has increased.

The recent research demonstrates that one out of every 5 motorists in the U.S. admit to using smartphones while behind the wheel to surf the web. The company stated that this an alarming number considering the fact that it represents a 13 percent rise from 2009.

Motorists say that they are aware of the risks and, according to the company, 45% of the 1,000 motorists surveyed support the creation of technology that will keep them away from their phones while behind the wheel.
