One of the main deciding factors for consumers that are considering purchasing electric vehicles may be range-anxiety, due to the fact people feel they may become stranded in case the vehicle runs out of battery juice.

Because of this issue, many automakers focusing on developing all-electric vehicles have been coming up with ways of turning this problem around by improving the infrastructure of these vehicles and their charging power. According to multiple experts, automakers like Audi, Lotus, Mazda, BMW, AVL and FEV have developed engine-driven generator that would increase electrical energy as the vehicle is driven.

Although this is not the ultimate solution to the range-anxiety problem, it sets a precedent and pushes engineers to develop better and more efficient technology as a response.
