The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that Creative Bus Sales, Inc. has issued a recall for a series of buses of the 2006 through 2011 GMC and Chevrolet C5500, Ford E450 and Econoline 350 because some of these vehicles may have been equipped with wheelchair lifts that could pose a serious injury threat to passengers.

The wheelchair lifts in these vehicles manufactured by Braun could experience an issue concerning the latching system, which could, over time, affect the proper functioning of the lift. If the platform becomes bent over use, the wheelchair user may ride over the roll stop because the device may not sufficiently latched.

To prevent injuries, the company has stated that these vehicles will be repaired for free.
