Several older vehicles are listed under a recent National Insurance Crime Bureau’s list of most stolen vehicles of 2011.

According to this new list, the 1994 Accord and the 1998 Civic, both manufactured by Honda, are the top contenders. Ford’s F-Series truck from the 2006 make is also popular amongst auto thieves.

Experts say that newer models are difficult to steal because of anti-theft technology and that’s why newer models have not made the top of the list. Also, the Highway Loss Data Institute states that the Cadillac Escalade has a high rate of theft compared to other vehicles.
