According to several news agencies, the NHTSA Complaints Activity Report that is published monthly has been re-categorized with complaints that have been submitted since 2005 for all vehicles of the 2005 model,
Experts say that in an effort to create better and consistent reporting, the agency hopes to use this data to offer a better activity report for consumers. These complaints were completed with the help of an online or were filed through a hotline call and because old descriptions and inadequate categorizations, former versions of these reports did not allow for a good aggregated and analyzed gathering of information.
The agency will continued to retrieve, review, and categorize complaints adding to a database that consists of more than 90,000 vehicle complaints.
