Hyundai Recalls Veloster With Manual Transmission Over Brake Problem

Hyundai has issued a recall announcement along the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration over a possible crash risk.

The company has stated that the 2012 Veloster vehicles equipped with manual transmissions are being recalled over an issue with the parking brakes in these vehicles. The reports show that crucial components in these brake systems may not function properly due to a build-up of road grime and moisture that could lead to the binding of these components. If the brake doesn’t work as it’s designed to, the manual transmission may move unintentionally while the vehicle is parked and the car may roll-away, leading to an accident.

To prevent accidents, the company has asked affected consumers to have the brake components repaired or replaced for free at authorized dealers.
