Fletcher Jones Motorcars Sued for Falsifying Down Payment Amount

The Vachon Law Firm announces the January 14, 2011 filing of the lawsuit Lewis v. Fletcher Jones Motor Cars, Inc., et al. in the Orange County Superior Court (Case No. 30-2011-00441338). The defendant, Fletcher Jones Motor Cars, Inc., is a Newport Beach, California Mercedes dealership. The plaintiff is a Newport Beach consumer who is being represented by the Vachon Law Firm.

Allegations Against Fletcher Jones Motorcars

The plaintiff alleges in her complaint that Fletcher Jones Motorcars illegally falsified the down payment amount in her lease contract in order to get her financed for a vehicle lease for which she otherwise would not have qualified. The complaint further alleges that Fletcher Jones violated California’s Vehicle Leasing Act by failing to include the dealership’s anti-export policy (which states that the plaintiff agreed to pay the dealership $10,000 if she exported the leased vehicle) within the four corners of the lease contract.
