According to a recent article, the semi-automated Lexus luxury brand has launched its advanced active safety research vehicle, which has been designed to test a series of different autonomous technologies.

The research model comes with a 360-degree laser mounted on the roof of the vehicle that could be also used in vehicles in the near future.
According to the reports, the vehicle is also equipped with high-definition cameras and front and side-mounted radars that will help the cameras to read the traffic and scan for obstacles at all times.

The automaker hopes to develop a more useful and practical vehicle equipped with this technology in order to make the autonomous car system a reality in the near future.
