Multiple car specialists have been looking into the best and worst gas mileage in newer vehicle models and according to some reports, the most fuel-efficient hatchbacks is the Nissan Leaf SL model. According to experts that have tested the model, the EV achieves an average of 106 miles per gallon.

Some of the best fuel-efficient hatchbacks include the Chevrolet Volt, the Toyota Prius Four and C Two, the Lexus CT 200h Premium, the Smart For Two Passion and the Honda Insight EX.

One of the vehicles tested that also had a good mpg was the Volkswagen Golf TDI model.
