New Crash Test May Change Car Safety Ratings

A new type of crash test is pushing automakers to evaluate their automobiles and their safety technology.

Some previously highly rated luxury vehicles are failing the new small overlap frontal crash test, according to the news. This test simulates the hitting of an object or other vehicle in just one of the front corners of a car. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is expanding the use of this test and urges consumers to take note of future crash tests and its results.
