New Navigation App Connects Drivers

Multiple news agencies have been reporting that certain navigation apps have been updated to allow users to drive while connected to friends and family members.

According to several news agencies, Garmin has added a new feature to its smartphone navigation apps that will offer a location-sharing service provided by Glympse and Foursquare. The app will be able to allow drivers to stay in touch with other users while driving and visiting places. The Garmin StreetPilot Onboard and Navigon for iOS will also offer a feature that will let drivers synch their favorite destinations with the use of iCloud.

Consumers who are already users of Garmin Street Pilot and Navigon will be able to use these features via iTunes and Google Play.

Although there aren’t many reviews on this new system, some believe that this new technology will be welcomed by drivers who are interested in sharing their destinations with friends and loved ones online without having to worry about utilizing several different apps at once. Although some believe that technologies that combine navigation and connectivity may pose a distraction risk, this app is already being used by many drivers.
