NorthShore Evanston Hospital hosted a car seat saftey check program this past weekend, according to a series of news agencies.

The event was held at the Kellogg Center and, according to the organizers, drivers were being instructed on how to safely install car seats. With the help of the Evanston Police Department, car seats were also inspected and the public was informed about how important it is to have a child in the vehicle properly seated and strapped into their car seat.

The event was organized to help teach parents just how important it is to keep children safe. Safety advocates believe it’s necessary to minimize accident risks involving children.
