New in-car camera technology is increasing the safety of police officers and other drivers sharing the road with them, reports show.

This technology monitors an incarcerated person’s movement in the back of the police car and can be used during the day and at night thanks to infrared technology. This new system can help keep officers safe and focused on the road while traveling with a criminal in the back seat.

Safety advocates believe this system will keep all drivers safe because police officers will not be distracted by the constant distraction hazards incarcerated individuals could pose to drivers.
