Safety Could Be Increased With Better Infotainment Typeface
According to recent articles, a new study has shown that different kinds of typefaces used in vehicle infotainment and navigation systems can affect glance time, thereby affecting the driver’s attention spam and leading him or her to become distracted.
It was shown that the open humanist typeface, which is reportedly easier to read, reduced glance time by 10.6% compared to a more rigid, tight typefaces. Legibility should be added to the list of interface designs to be optimized to minimize driver distraction.
