Scion iQ Models Recalled Over Injury Hazard

Toyota has recently issued a recall for multiple units of 2012 and 2013 Scion iQ vehicles over a possible issue that could pose an injury hazard to passengers.

The automaker wants to inspect these vehicles because of a possible issue linked to the Occupant Classification System (OCS) weight sensor cables. According to the firm, these components must have new protective covers installed, which will prevent the technology to fail in the event of an accident.

If the cables are damaged, airbags in the passenger side may not deploy, which could cause serious injuries.

The automaker is contacting affected owners at this moment.
