Study Argues That Car Dashboards Could Pose Distraction Risks

According to recent articles, a study has been performed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to help reduce driver distraction when glancing at information on systems in the car.

The goal is to simplify the display on in-car systems, such as, the GPS and other types of infotainment technologies. The study also explored ways to reduce costs when it comes to the design of in-car systems by varying font styles and size on the display.

Studies were carried out by using men and women aged 36  to 75 and showed marked variation in distraction times between males and females.
