Toyota Recalls Specific Tacoma Vehicles
According to the latest recall announcement published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Toyota has issued a recall for several models of Tacoma trucks over a possible road hazard.
Consumers with the 2001 through 2004 Tacoma trucks in their possession who live in cold states or in areas where road salts are used on a regular basis should contact the manufacturer at once.
The federal agency has reported that these vehicles were equipped with spare tire carriers that were assembled with a crucial component that could fail due to constant exposure to road salts. If the plates holding the spare tire corrode as a result, the spare tire may fall and the item can break, posing a hazard to drivers.
