Fuel Leak Concern Prompt Federal Probe Into Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

Multiple news agencies have reported recently that federal agents have initiated a probe into potential fuel leaks linked to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class model.

This investigation would affect 250,000 units of these vehicles. According to the federal agency, these vehicles have been linked to 533 complaints of strong odor of gasoline as soon as they refueled their vehicles. This issue may be linked to a potential leakage linked to the upper part of the vehicle’s gas tank.

Complaints were linked to vehicles of the 2003 through 2006 E55 AMG models. According to the reports, these vehicles may have presented an issue that could be linked to a 2008 pollution control recall.

Before a recall is issued, the federal agency National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will perform the investigation to identify the problem. As an attorney, I’m glad the federal agency is investigating this issue before the leaks lead to potential fires or other incidents.
