Aerial Device Vehicles May Pose Risk, NHTSA Says

According to a series of reports, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall announcement along the company Altec Industries, Inc. regarding all units of 2002 through 2009 models of HL125 and AH75/85/100 aerial device vehicles.

The federal agency reported that these units were equipped with rods that could become loose while the vehicle is being used, which could lead the outrigger cylinder piston retention system movement to trigger the ejecting of these rods. If this happen, a component could strike an object or an individual, posing a serious injury and property damage risk to the public.
