Corolla, Corolla Matrix & Pontiac Vibe Models Recalled

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that all units of the 2003 and 2004 Pontiac Vibe, Corolla and Corolla Matrix are being recalled over a possible injury hazard.

According to the federal agency, these vehicles were equipped with supplemental restraint system circuits that are especially prone to experience an internal shorting, causing these vehicles to experience a heating of the internal circuits, which could cause damage and result in an inadvertent deployment of the front airbags and seat belt pretensioners.

The firm has stated that although no incidents have been reported in association with these devices, however, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is urging consumers to have their vehicles inspected and repaired for free at the dealers as soon as possible. A recall announcement related to a vehicle you own should never be ignored, especially if the issue could result in an accident.

Toyota will be notifying all affected consumers. To read the full recall announcement and learn more about this issue, click here.
