Delphi Develops Device That Tracks Car, Unlocks Door

Multiple news agencies have indicated that Delphi has developed a Vehicle Diagnostics that will allow the driver to track his or her vehicle, unlock doors and even open the trunk with a smartphone.

This product will be released directly to consumers and it will enable drivers to perform several functions that would work with most cars built after 1996.

The product known as Vehicle Diagnostics is an app that can be downloaded to any smartphone. A module provided by the company is plugged into the car’s OBD II diagnostic port, which will keep the app on your phone linked to your car, enabling the monitoring of your vehicle at all times.

The system will help the user to set up “geo fences” and every time the car strays from the boundaries established by the vehicle owner, the device will alert the user through an email or text message.
