Legacy, Outback Models Recalled By Subaru

Subaru has issued a recall for several units of its vehicles over an issue with the accessory puddle lights, which if exposed to a moisture source, it could pose a fire or smoke risk to consumers.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Subaru has recalled all units of the 2006 through 2012 Tribeca, 2010 and 2011 Legacy and Outback and 2009 through 2012 Forester models that come with the accessory puddle lights, which are placed under the doors of the cars.

If these lights are being used and the system is exposed to moisture, it may penetrate the circuit board and reach the connector cavity, which could led to a short circuit, posing a fire risk to occupants.

The company has stated that all affected vehicles will be repaired for free.
