Low Crash Test Scores Push Automakers To Make Safer Cars

Because consumers and federal agencies are always pushing automakers to manufacture vehicles that are safer to occupants, new and tougher crash tests have also been developed.

As we’ve reported here recently, a new test in particular that checks safety rating concerned with front end crashes surprised many when 9 models out of 11 scored low in comparison to the high score of previous crash tests.

Reports show that the only two vehicles that tested well were theVolvo S60 and surprisingly, the Acura TL. While not ranking as high, the Infiniti G was in third place, ranking acceptable.

The responses from the various automakers were all varied and only time will show if newer models are improved by this test.
