Multiple Cranes Recalled By NHTSA And Altec Over Injury Hazard

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has indicated that Altec has issued a recall for a series of cranes equipped with telescopic jibs that could fail once fully extended.

According to the agency’s official statement, the 2010 and 2011 AC35/38 cranes are equipped with jib attachment brackets that may not be sufficient for heavy loads, causing it to fail once the device is lifted. These devices are being recalled because the problem could pose a serious injury risk to users and to those standing nearby.

The company hasn’t received any reports of injuries up to this moment. Any recalled vehicle and crane will be fully repaired for free. You can follow this link to read the full recall announcement published by the NHTSA.
