New Fusion Energi Gets Top Safety Ratings From NHTSA

According to Ford and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the new Fusion Energi model has recently earned a top safety rating after being subject to multiple crash tests.

The 2013 Ford Fusion Energi obtained the great ratings after being subject to severe testing procedures. The NHTSA gave the car the five-star Overall Vehicle Score after agents carrying out the agency’s New Car Assessment Program evaluated the model.

According to the firm, the Fusion Energi offers great fuel economy and high safety ratings to drivers. The New Car Assessment Program procedures include frontal and side-impact crash tests and rollover resistance. These are tests that are important for consumers because it lets them know if the vehicle will keep them safe if similar accidents happen in the future.

Fusion hasn’t received only the 5-star rating as an honor for its safety features. According to the news, the model was named a Top Safety Pick+ after the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety tested the car.

The new Energi comes with driver assist technologies that could help drivers to avoid accidents. According to the automaker, the new Fusion Energi can get 108 MPGe, which is a better mileage than the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid can get.

As an attorney, I’m glad to learn that automakers are focusing on making safer and more efficient vehicles. California drivers willing to learn more about this model can follow this link to read the full article.
