NHTSA Asks Consumers About New Vehicle Safety Evaluations
According to several news agencies, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported that it’s currently working on the development of certain new car safety and crash testing programs.
The agency has stated that its regulators are working on adding certain proposed changes to the agency’s New Car Assessment Program that are already being used by European regulators.
The agency has stated that its regulators would like hear what consumers have to say about the proposed changes before they are added to the official car crash testing assessment program.
Some of the changes include the increase in safety regulations concerning the rear seats and adding a family star rating so vehicles that offer good safety features for the whole family can be rated.
