Prius C Picked As One of the Best Family Cars of 2013

According to a recent publication, experts have decided to look into the newest vehicle models in order to compile a list of cars that could be the best and most efficient vehicles for families.

The reports show that according to the experts, finding the perfect models for families was not an easy task. They decided to look into several reviews and crash tests to find vehicles that are affordable and that meet the needs of most families. According to the publication, only vehicles equipped with six air bags or more that ranked well in crash and safety tests were considered. Experts say that all vehicles listed also included electronic stability control in order to avoid potential rollovers.

The official list published by Parents magazine offers details on the vehicles picked by breaking down all models by class category. This makes it easier for consumers to find the type of vehicle they enjoy driving by choosing their cars by class, which narrows their search.

Out of all models listed, the least expensive is the Subaru Impreza, which could be available for $17,895. This model has received good ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, reports indicate. According to the experts, consumers willing to invest in a slightly more costly alternative, could get an even better vehicle by choosing the Toyota Prius C instead.

According to the publication, the new Prius C is a smaller version of the popular Prius and is also less costly than the average Prius, starting at $20,000. According to Toyota, this model gets about 53 miles per gallon in the city and about 46 on the highway. Prius C’s mileage could be enough of a reason for consumers on a budget to choose this vehicle over any other.

Another vehicle by Toyota has also made the listing. According to experts, the new Toyota Sienna has also made the cut after experts noted this model could fit up to eight passengers comfortably. In spite of the abundant space, this vehicle drives much more like a car than a minivan, which will please those who prefer the mobility of a smaller vehicle.

Drivers who prefer not to go into the minivan department can stick to the spacious Honda CR-V, which is a crossover that offers some of the benefits of a minivan while still looking cool. This model is equipped with a standard rearview camera and reclining rear seats. According to expert, this vehicle is also extremely safe. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded this model with a Top Safety Pick, which is enough for some to know that it has enough safety features to justify preferring this model over others.
