Prius Models Recalled Over Defective Steering Components
Multiple models of Prius are being recalled over a steering component issue, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has reported.
According to the official recall statement and several other news sources, the models of Prius from 2004 to 2009 have been equipped with certain components in the vehicle’s steering intermediate extension shaft assembly that may fail because the items were not produced with sufficient toughness, which could potentially lead to a loss of vehicular steering ability.
To prevent an accident that could be caused by a loss of steering ability, Toyota issued this recall and is now contacting all affected car owners.
