America’s long lasting love affair with crossovers and SUVs is not yet over, despite high gas prices and higher maintenance costs, it has simply been slightly downsized.

Reports show that consumers still look for the sporty, sexy feel of a full size SUV but are responding to more efficient, compact crossover versions of SUVs to save at the pump.

Crossovers are usually much more practical vehicles than SUVs and can get better gas mileage. Reports show that the Chevrolet Equinox makes a nice crossover for families with babies, preteens and teens.
