Zero Motorcycles Recalled Over Defect That Leads To Loss Of Power
Certain motorcycles manufactured by Zero Motorcycles, Inc. have been recalled over an issue that could lead to a possible loss of power.
According to the report recently issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the 2012 S and DS motorcycles were furnished with motor encoder position signals that could drift outside of the parameters set for the component, which could then lead to the shutting off of the motor. If this occurs while the vehicle is in use, the motor could be shut off unexpectedly and the motorcycle could suddenly lose power, leading to a crash.
To prevent crashes and maintain riders safe, the federal agency has stated that affected motorcycle owners should contact the manufacturer at once to have this issue fixed.
